WHAT IS A PERSONAL PROTECTION DOG?
The term "Personal Protection Dogs" tends to be misunderstood by a lot of people and these dogs seem to be judged as this aggressive and unsocialized animal that no one would want to have around their children. That couldn't be further from the truth, a personal protection dog is a family-friendly, highly active, and interactive companion that is willing to lay down their lives to preserve yours. They are very stable and environmentally neutral dogs trained to react in the face of an imminent threat of bodily harm. A personal protection dog could mean the difference when seconds count, they are the last line of defense between you and what could end up being your very last seconds.
IS YOUR DOG FIT FOR THE JOB?
Not every dog is fit for the task at hand. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are interested in training your dog for personal protection and or are planning on getting a dog for this purpose: proper selection is key for your success, we are looking for a confident, stable nerved, and prey driven dog, that will not break when it gets punched in the face and or thrown against a wall, we are looking for a rugged animal not faint of heart. If you already have a desired dog, keep this in mind, we want to build confidence, we want to build social skills, we want to build intensive and predatory drive, but most importantly we want to build control.
